CRIMEAN CRISIS

Where is CRIMEA. If you look at Black Sea at the top you have an island called Crimea: well it is not exactly an island and is connected to the top with UKRAINE and to the East it is separated from RUSSIA by the thin KERCH STRAIT. This area has been a cause of a conflict and Russia claims to have annexed the area while Ukraine denies it. The people of Crimea are predominantly Russian speaking but there is no end to the troubles the common people are subjected to because the games the Govts and armies play out in the area. The eastern borders of Ukraine with Russia is reported to be porous and troops are in the midst of an armed conflict. How sad that while the armies and common people suffer, the politicians make merry in their seven star comfort. However, we present a map of the area for you to figure into the war theatre

And see the entire south border of Black Sea is taken up by Turkey
while the entire north border is straddled by Ukraine

Russia is the only country that touches both Black Sea & Caspian Sea

Alberto Fujimori, former president of PERU, released

This set me thinking. This is a purely Japanese name and Peru is in South America. Where is the connection. A little search fetches this: that many Japanese moved from Japan to Peru in search of gold around 1900 i.e.a little more than 100 years ago. And they dominated the polity of Peru so much that one of them got exalted to the position of President. See the map below to feel the distance between the two countries across the Pacific as per Google Maps.

PERU is a fascinating country with a very ancient and mysterious history. MACCHU PICHU, the famed megalithic site up on the mountains, is a fount of surprising discoveries and the researchers like Brien Foerster and Graham Hancock have many interesting things to say about the ancient INCA civilizations. NAZCA LINES is another mind-boggling artefact: on the dry desert floor straight lines have been carved out centuries ago and there are 300 of them. Just across the border into BOLIVIA, there is an ancient site called PUMA PUNKU, which has one of the most astounding collection of abandoned stone pieces which were apparently being used in all the various megalithic sites around this area during the INCA times, and the most unbelievable aspect of PUMA PUNKU is that most of these ancient stones look like having been machined to perfection. In fact, having observed these mega stone [lithos means stone] structures across the globe, experts are of the opinion that there was an ancient civilization on this planet who had advanced technology evidenced by these megalithic structures and who were washed out by the GREAT DELUGE [of Noah folklore] around 10000 years ago.

President of Turkey visits Greece after 65 years

If you see in the map, Greece and Turkey are very close by. But they share a tumultous history. And what a history it is. Greeks, as you know ruled the world of knowledge once upon a time: we still use Pythagoras Theorem and Euclidean Geometry. And Turkey is positioned such that it has always been at the crossroads. Turkey is the only country [other than Russia] in the world which is both in Europe and Asia

you can see the map of europe above and immediately notice that Turkey is positioned in Asia and nudging into Europe while Africa is very close by. Greece and Turkey share the same Mediterranean Sea. And the entire Northern border of Turkey is a coast line with BLACK SEA: stupendous, dont you think. How great would it be to visit the towns along that coast line.
