I am currently teaching the 7th grade level.  My level, Challenge A (7th) has a focus on geography ...  We spend the year learning to draw the world map from memory and to label the countries, capitals, states (US, Canada) and features (Mountains, Rivers, Lakes...) ...

Your methods of blocking out the continents and countries in easy to draw lines is wonderful!  Some of our students trace maps throughout the year, but we really want them to graduate from that and be able to draw a map on a blank sheet with no other cues.  I think your method will be the stepping stone I needed to help my students who struggle with that.

I recently gave myself the goal of memorizing the countries on the globe including latitude and longitude. I was searching the web for hints on how to do this when I came across your excellent pages. I am also very interested in these two future e-books that you mentioned:

1. Draw the World Map accurately with Latitude and Longitude
(only using a pencil and paper)

2. Remember the Absolute Location (Latitude and Longitude) of most of the cities of the world


If you would kindly inform me when you have versions of those documents available, I would gladly purchase advance copies. Thank you!

It's good to know that the map drawing ability I have gained through your MAP OF THE WHOLE WORLD pdf will also come in handy in making a map with accurate latitude and longitude.

 I just enjoy learning the locations of places in order to better understand the human world. I want to be able to mentally visualize where things are and the best way to do that is to be able to draw the map.

I contacted you a few years back and purchased your 2 drawing programs which teach students how to draw the world and the US by memory. Unfornately our computer crashed and we lost a lot of data. I no longer have access to the programs I purchased from you. (See the attached Paypal invoice below).

About 1/3 of my kids have mastered Europe. I think that using your drawings give them a much clearer understanding of where the countries stand in relation to one another than just labeling a blank outline map.  

I have the children for 3 years and I'll make it a requirement for leaving 6th grade that they can re-create all of the maps.
